About_HTI

Horticultural Training Institute  was established in 1998 under the aegis of Department of Horticulture, Government of Haryana in collaboration with  World Bank project under AHRD Scheme with an amount of Rs.11.76 crore. It  is located at 122 km milestone from Chandigarh and 130 km from New Delhi on NH-1 in village Uchani, District Karnal with its longitude and latitudes as 76.98° and 29.73° respectively and  313 meters above sea level.

 

MOTTO: The motto of HTI is very simple id est  to assist the Haryana Government in developing the skills of extension personnels, farming fraternity, unemployed youths and house makers, all either from the Government Sector or from the Private Sector, so as to achieve a success in this regard to provide employment to the unemployed persons on sustainable basis .

 

VISION: The vision behind establishing the aforesaid training institute is that population of our country is galloping day by day resulting hike in unemployment year by year. While pondering over this unemployment, the State Government is of the view that there should be development of skills among the citizens of the state so that they, instead of seeking government jobs, should start their work on their own. So, State Government is of the view that this is the sole method of tackling the grave problem of unemployment among youths and others.

 

Mission: The mission of HTI is to improve and enhance the managerial and technical skills of extension personnels, malis, farmers, unemployed youths and ministerial staff of the states with a view to providing most effective support and services to the horticultural growers. HTI also works as capacity builder in the field of horticulture. The innovative ideas pertaining to Horticulture are being disseminated through trainings among the trainees for the betterment of growers in the state and those in the nation as a whole.
